Exhibition A Monkey Playing with the Reflection of the Moon

Basement Gallery in Olomouc is specific for its absence of natural light. The underground space, with a relatively low ceiling, is dominated by vaults and structural complexity. We embraced the game of darkness and decided to evoke the atmosphere of a blue, dreamlike light in combination with purely stucco painting. We used this opportunity to experiment with working only with plain stucco without adding a pigment, which was a first time for us. Colors are seductive, but this exhibition format offered the chance to abandon them for a while and remain with the shimmering quality of grey-white stucco.
